T.A Orji Receives His Senatorial Certificate Of Return From INEC - Photos

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has been issued with his certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the senator-elect for Abia Central senatorial zone.

Governor Orji was issued with the certificate alongside two other senators- elect and eight house of Representatives members-elect who won the March 28th National Assembly polls in the state.

Issuing the Governor with the certificate of return at the Headquarters of the state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Atahiru Jega represented by the national commissioner of INEC, Ambassador Lawrence Nwuruku congratulated the winners on their electoral victory.


He urged politicians not to see election as a do or die affair as well as to be magnanimous in their celebrations.

Reacting to the development, the Governor expressed happiness for being issued with his certificate of return.

According to him, the development puts to an end the useless rumour that his election was cancelled.

The Governor said the issuance of the certificate of return to them shows that they were duly elected by Abians to represent them and told Abians to expect the best from him when he goes to the Senate.

In his speech, the senator-elect for Abia South senatorial zone, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe assured that they will ensure quality representation for the people at the upper legislative chambers.

Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s president-elect, has been issued a Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The chairman of INEC, Attahiru Jega, handed the certificate to Mr. Buhari, and the vice president-elect, Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday.

WARRI- THE Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, has commended the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on his victory in the 2015 presidential elections, saying Nigerians made the right choice.

The group in a statement by its spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo, said, “The Nigerian people have spoken and elected General Mohammadu Buhari to be the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” adding, “In doing so, we have not only made the right choice of a new leadership, we have also reaffirmed the strength of our democracy.”

“President-elect, General Mohammadu Buhari’s message of hope, freedom and opportunity resonates with our group, as it does with the Nigerian people.

In these difficult times, with the economic crisis and security challenges, we are confident that under your leadership, Nigeria will once again regain its peace and unity,” the group asserted.‎

MEND also lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for his outstanding show of statesmanship “in conceding defeat and setting precedence as the first ever incumbent Nigerian President to be defeated and concede defeat, without any interference.”

The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Muhammadu Buhari president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
President-elect Muhammadu Buhari’s All Progressives Congress won the 2015 Nigeria presidential elections by a comfortable margin of 2, 571, 759 votes after securing a total of 15,424,921 against Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 12,853,162 votes.

LAFIA— There were pockets of demonstrations in some parts of Nasarawa State yesterday, following the notice of impeachment served on Governor Umaru Al Makura, Monday, by the state House Assembly.

Some youths demonstrated at the Orange Market at Mararaba, Keffi, Akwanga and other parts of Lafia yesterday, protesting what they described as alleged attempt by members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to remove Al Makura from office for selfish reasons.
